About Rover

Rover is a pet services marketplace that helps pet owners connect with trusted care providers across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Based in Seattle and Barcelona, the company is growing quickly and is centered around creating safe, tailored experiences for each pet. Rover also invests in AI as a way to speed up business outcomes and gives employees access to AI tools to help improve experiences for the community. The company has been recognized as one of Seattle Business Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For and as one of Washington’s Best Workplaces by the Puget Sound Business Journal.

Rover is committed to building an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming workplace and encourages people to join its team and make an impact.

Role Summary

In this senior role, you will lead Rover’s upper-funnel consideration efforts and shape how the brand is deployed across channels such as Linear TV, OTT/CTV, Audio, Podcast, OOH, and Programmatic. While brand identity is owned elsewhere, you will be responsible for putting that identity to work in ways that drive measurable growth and new customer acquisition.

You will operate with a high level of independence, guide a major media investment using advanced measurement approaches such as MMM and Geo-Uplift, and help define the future of marketing operations through automation and AI.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in the Greater Seattle Area. You are expected to work from the Downtown Seattle office two days per week, on Mondays and Thursdays. Candidates should already live in the Greater Seattle Area or be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and direct the long-term strategy for upper-funnel channels, with the goal of attracting new customers and shaping how consideration is measured.
  • Set goals and OKRs for upper-funnel success and influence how the business wins in this space.
  • Contribute meaningfully to annual planning by bringing deep expertise in media strategy and industry trends.
  • Partner closely with the Brand team so upper-funnel execution aligns with brand direction while also feeding performance insights back into the process.
  • Bring expert-level knowledge of Linear TV, OTT, CTV, Audio, OOH, and Programmatic media, including buying, negotiations, inventory quality, and placement strategy.
  • Lead and coach complex external agency relationships and ensure they meet strict performance expectations.
  • Oversee large media budgets with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and accountability.
  • Work with Marketing Data Science to develop new metrics and measurement frameworks.
  • Own the interpretation and practical use of Media Mix Modeling results for your channels.
  • Design and recommend Geo-Uplift tests to validate the incrementality of upper-funnel spend.
  • Tackle difficult measurement challenges, including signal loss in CTV and multi-channel attribution in privacy-first environments.
  • Identify opportunities to automate marketing workflows and turn AI tools into scalable operating systems for the team.
  • Choose and architect the right AI solutions for complex business needs.
  • Communicate clearly with executive stakeholders by translating technical media and AI concepts into practical business language.
  • Create recurring forums to share learning across the organization and improve team-wide prioritization and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 10 to 12+ years of relevant experience in high-scale media strategy, ideally supporting a consumer brand and preferably a two-sided marketplace.
  • Proven ability to use upper-funnel channels to drive new customer growth and measure impact.
  • Strong background in workflow automation using scripts, Python, SaaS tools, and AI.
  • Experience building or внедр implementing AI-driven systems that improved a marketing team’s delivery capacity is a strong advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with Geo-Uplift testing and applying MMM insights in practice.
  • Experience managing agencies, holding them accountable for results, and running an RFP process.
  • Exposure to campaigns in the UK and EU is a plus because the role affects both U.S. and international business.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both Brand and Marketing Data Science teams.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for learning new approaches.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree in a quantitative or business discipline is a plus, though relevant experience will also be considered.

Additional Information

This position is intended for someone who wants significant strategic influence without direct people-management responsibilities. It is designed for a practitioner who can help shift marketing away from manual processes toward an AI-enabled, data-validated operating model.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay
  • 401(k) matching
  • Long-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payout
  • Flexible paid time off
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Commuter benefits
  • Dog-friendly office access and unlimited puppy time
  • Pet support, including $1,000 toward adopting a first dog or cat
  • Stocked kitchen with fridges, coffee, soda, snacks, and monthly catered lunches
  • In-person and virtual team activities
