Role Overview
The Senior Manufacturing Manager will lead a large, multi-level shop-floor team and drive performance across precision assembly operations in Singapore. This position is centered on production leadership, operational discipline, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and cost management in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a cross-functional production workforce made up of shift supervisors, technicians, cell leaders, and operators, with a team size of more than 180 people.
- Manage day-to-day execution across multiple precision assembly cells, keeping priority on safety, yield, cycle time, 5S practices, and on-time delivery.
- Build weekly production plans and longer-range resource deployment strategies using push-pull planning methods to support sharp demand increases.
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to investigate floor issues and resolve workmanship defects through structured, data-based root cause analysis and mistake-proofing methods.
- Oversee operating budgets, track direct and indirect labor expenses, and contribute to capital expenditure planning and optimization.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or another related technical field is required.
- At least 8 years of progressive manufacturing management experience with direct supervision of large plants or multi-shift assembly operations.
- Demonstrated success managing a manufacturing workforce of 150 or more people.
- Background in high-precision capital equipment assembly, advanced automation, or a tightly regulated high-tech manufacturing setting with contamination control or advanced traceability requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and methods such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and mistake-proofing.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, along with the confidence to make sound operational decisions independently in demanding situations.
