Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the finance operations at PhillipCapital in Singapore. The ideal candidate will ensure robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and support the organization's growth through detailed financial analysis and process enhancements. This role requires balancing day-to-day financial management with transformational projects that boost efficiency in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily finance operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accounting records, reconciliations, and transaction processing.
- Examine journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and payments to ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and control frameworks.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings including variance analysis, management reporting, and balance sheet reviews.
- Prepare and assess financial reports and business performance data to guide management decisions.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to evaluate financial impacts, resolve issues, and improve operational effectiveness.
- Offer financial insights to support business initiatives and strategic planning efforts.
- Maintain compliance with financial governance, regulatory requirements, and internal policies to uphold a strong control environment.
- Assist with internal and external audits, as well as regulatory reporting by delivering precise and timely financial information.
- Identify and address control deficiencies to enhance financial processes and risk management.
- Lead initiatives aimed at streamlining finance processes, boosting controls, and increasing efficiencies through automation and optimization.
- Engage in finance transformation projects, such as workflow redesign, system upgrades, data analytics, and automation tools deployment.
- Utilize technology and digital solutions to minimize manual work and improve reporting functions.
- Supervise and mentor finance team members, encouraging accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.
- Review team outputs and provide mentoring to uphold quality and professionalism standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications like CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalents are advantageous.
- At least 5 to 7 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, ideally in financial services, brokerage, banking, fintech, or regulated sectors.
- Experience in managing financial close processes and supporting audit activities.
- Familiarity with accounting principles, financial reporting standards, internal controls, and governance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and financial software systems.
- Exposure to automation tools, data analytics, RPA, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, or similar technologies is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- High attention to detail with capability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Self-driven, proactive with strong ownership and accountability.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement, operational excellence, and innovation.
