Role Overview
This full-time Senior Finance Manager role offers flexibility to work remotely, with occasional travel at the candidate's expense to offices located in London, Dubai, or Toronto. A strong comfort with technology and productivity enhancements is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process and produce precise management accounts for all group entities.
- Develop board and executive committee documentation, covering KPIs, financial insights, profitability analysis, budget reviews, and variance explanations.
- Create budgets, rolling forecasts, scenario analyses, and long-range financial plans.
- Supervise and mentor the Bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, journal entries, payroll data, and ledger maintenance.
- Coordinate with external advisors to manage regulatory filings, tax submissions, and audits.
- Generate and issue invoices timely and maintain thorough balance sheet reconciliations including fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
- Oversee treasury functions, managing liquidity, payment processes, approvals, and continuous cash flow forecasts.
- Introduce financial automation tools, AI-enabled workflows, dashboards, and improved management information systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, operations, and investment teams to enhance commercial decision-making.
- Develop a scalable finance department equipped to support the company's expected growth in capital deployment.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Holds a professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Possesses 5 to 10+ years of experience in financial control, management accounting, or finance leadership, with at least 3 to 5 years in an investment management environment.
- Experienced managing multiple legal entities across different jurisdictions.
- Strong expertise in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury operations.
- Highly proficient with Excel and financial modelling techniques.
- Familiarity with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software.
- Desired: Knowledge of investment accounting applied to private credit, structured finance, or specialty lending portfolios.
- Preferred track record in enhancing finance systems, controls, and implementing automation via technology.
- Additional qualifications like CFA or related credentials in alternative investment accounting or operations are advantageous.
