Position Overview

Based in Culver City, CA, the Senior Event Manager will build and lead POP MART's U.S. Events department during a dynamic growth phase. This role involves creating strategies, processes, vendor relationships, and operational frameworks to support flagship store launches, IP releases, pop-ups, exhibitions, community gatherings, and national brand activations throughout the United States. The position requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution capability within a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the U.S. events strategy aligned with retail, marketing, and business goals.
  • Develop scalable procedures for event planning, budgeting, approvals, vendor management, and execution across event categories including grand openings, pop-ups, exhibitions, and brand activations.
  • Create annual event calendars and operational manuals.
  • Manage all aspects of event execution—timelines, logistics, staffing, production, and onsite delivery.
  • Oversee relationships with external agencies, creative partners, contractors, and vendors ensuring exceptional customer experiences that reinforce the brand.
  • Implement standardized project management tools and reporting to track performance metrics such as attendance, engagement, sales impact, and ROI.
  • Maintain vendor partnerships across various U.S. regions and ensure compliance with venue, legal, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Retail Operations, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Store Development, Facilities, and global teams to localize and operationalize brand initiatives.
  • Provide event planning support, standards, and training to store teams.
  • Build and grow the events team by recruiting, mentoring, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management, Business, Communications, Hospitality, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years of leadership experience in retail events, experiential marketing, brand activations, or large-scale event operations.
  • Proven ability to establish or scale event programs and manage multi-location or national retail activations.
  • Skilled in project management, budget oversight, vendor negotiation, and partner coordination.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership qualities.
  • Adept at working in fast-changing, high-growth settings and managing shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000, subject to geographic variation and individual qualifications. The role may also be eligible for incentive compensation. Additional Details
