About the Role

This permanent, full-time position is based in Wellington, New Zealand. We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager who is passionate about nurturing strong supplier partnerships and driving successful contract outcomes. The Senior Contracts Manager will work closely with the Contract Management team within Te Poutāhū and collaborate with the Ministry's Commercial and Procurement team to align all commercial and contract activities with strategic goals, policies, and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contracts that present low to medium risk, ensuring they comply with Ministry policies and governance, as well as financial management standards.
  • Actively support Supplier Relationship Management goals and cultivate productive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Monitor contract performance, timelines, and budgets to ensure they meet the Ministry's expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and internal departments to address and resolve contractual issues, escalating complex matters when needed.
  • Lead contract reviews, negotiations, and ensure clarity and adherence to contract terms by all parties.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the contract management team.
