Role Overview

We are seeking a Financial Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join our Finance team in Dublin. This role involves managing regulatory reporting obligations under local compliance frameworks, including preparing periodic regulatory submissions and handling daily accounting operations related to safeguarding customer funds. Collaboration with global finance and engineering teams will be crucial to ensure efficient regulatory compliance and continuous process enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily reconciliations of customer funds safeguarding in line with local regulatory requirements, maintaining strong internal controls and rigorous data quality verification.
  • Prepare and submit accurate regulatory returns to relevant authorities.
  • Investigate unidentified exceptions and anomalies in data, then document and recommend resolutions to maintain data integrity.
  • Stay informed on safeguarding regulations such as PSD2 and other regulatory frameworks applicable to Remitly's regulated entities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of data flows from source systems to regulatory reporting outputs, becoming a subject matter expert on reporting data architecture.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to design, enhance, and automate regulatory reporting workflows.
  • Identify gaps in current reporting infrastructure and propose scalable solutions to improve efficiency and control.
  • Standardize and document financial reporting processes to ensure business continuity and support scaling regulatory activities.
  • Assist with financial inputs, system design, and documentation as part of new licensing processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and cross-functional finance projects.
  • Maintain precise records and audit trails to comply with internal and external audit requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a regulated financial services setting.
  • Proven hands-on experience with financial reconciliations and regulatory or management reporting tasks.
  • Working knowledge of safeguarding frameworks such as PSD2 and payment institution regulatory obligations.
  • Strong commitment to data quality and integrity with a thorough investigative approach.
  • Advanced proficiency with IT tools, including intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience within a Central Bank of Ireland regulated entity, payment institution, or electronic money firm.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Looker.
  • Understanding of AI productivity tools like Claude used in financial analysis workflows.
  • Participation in process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Exposure to safeguarding reconciliation and regulatory return preparation processes.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary for this role ranges from €64,000 to €80,000 annually. Employees in Ireland also have the opportunity to become shareholders in Remitly as part of our total compensation plan.
