Overview
Curry Tales Technology is a prominent manufacturer specializing in innovative and nutritious food products, particularly extruded snacks, crispies, flakes, and functional ingredients. Committed to excellence in quality and safety, we are searching for a detail-driven Senior Accountant to oversee the financial and logistical functions within our Hyderabad facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational management reports, including cost tracking and margin analysis.
- Support the creation and monitoring of the plant's annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Conduct profitability analysis on product lines to aid strategic financial decisions.
- Calculate the cost of goods sold by product, encompassing raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Develop and update standard costing for raw materials and finished goods, investigating variances between actual and expected costs.
- Monitor production yields to identify discrepancies, collaborating with production teams to mitigate issues like waste and inefficiencies.
- Allocate manufacturing overhead costs accurately based on appropriate activity drivers such as machine and labor hours.
- Manage and reconcile inventory valuation using methods such as FIFO, suitable for perishable items.
- Implement controls for tracking perishables to reduce wastage and write-offs.
- Lead conducting cycle counts and participate in physical inventory audits, resolving any discrepancies uncovered.
- Account for waste, scrap, and by-products accurately for valuation and appropriate disposal.
- Ensure adherence to industry-specific regulations like Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) concerning financial controls.
- Maintain strong internal controls for financial reporting, inventory management, and fixed assets within the production plant.
- Act as liaison for internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is mandatory.
- CPA or CMA certifications are highly desirable.
- A minimum of five years working in accounting, including at least two years within a manufacturing setting, preferably food processing.
- Proficiency in cost accounting methods, standard costing techniques, and variance analysis is required.
- Experience handling inventory management and valuation, particularly with perishable goods.
Skills & Competencies
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
- Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with Tally Prime accounting software.
- Strong analytical aptitude to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record keeping.
- Effective communication skills suitable for collaboration with finance and operational teams.
- Strong organizational skills to manage competing demands and meet stringent deadlines.
- Collaborative spirit fostering teamwork across departments.
