The position is intended for a Senior Accountant who wants to shift away from compliance-heavy work and step into a more strategic, client-facing advisory role. If you have strong technical capability but want to spend more time advising clients than processing work, this role is designed with that in mind.
Location and working arrangement
This is an on-site role based in Brisbane CBD, Australia. It is not a remote position and cannot be carried out from outside Australia. Applicants must already be living in Brisbane or be able to relocate before starting.
Work rights and experience
Applicants must hold full Australian working rights. The employer is seeking candidates with 3 to 5 years of experience in an Australian public practice firm.
Compensation
The package on offer is AUD 100,000 to AUD 110,000 plus superannuation, with the final amount depending on experience.
Key responsibilities
The role focuses on client advisory work, strategic thinking, and problem-solving. You will work with a blue-chip client base and partner closely with Directors and Managers to shape client strategy and long-term outcomes.
What the role involves
- Engaging directly with high-value clients.
- Concentrating on advisory, planning, and solutions rather than routine compliance processing.
- Providing guidance on tax optimisation, asset protection, and business structuring.
- Working alongside Directors and Managers on client strategy and future planning.
- Developing strong, trusted client relationships where your advice has a real impact.
What is offered
- A front-line advisory role with direct client interaction from the outset.
- Support from a separate compliance team so you can focus on advisory work.
- Regular collaboration with Directors, clients, and senior stakeholders.
- Exposure to a high-quality, blue-chip client portfolio.
- Clear and practical KPIs linked to client outcomes and professional growth.
- Potential for performance-based bonuses.
- 5 weeks of annual leave after 3 years of service and 6 weeks after 6 years.
- A workplace that values tenure, discipline, and long-term contribution.
About the ideal candidate
