Position Overview

The Senior Accountant based in Gort, Ireland will oversee comprehensive accounting operations including journal entry preparation, accruals and prepayments management, balance sheet reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work effectively with Accounting, Finance, and other departments. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to reporting functions and support various ad hoc projects as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close activities by ensuring timely and accurate posting of all accounting entries.
• Oversee revenue recognition processes adhering to US GAAP and ASC 606 compliance standards.
• Manage statutory audits for legal entities in France, Germany, and Belgium, ensuring local GAAP compliance.
• Prepare and file monthly VAT and intra-stat returns accurately.
• Conduct month-end balance sheet reconciliations and analyses, utilizing the Blackline reconciliation tool to ensure precision and timeliness of reconciliations.
• Collaborate across departments to provide accounting assistance, facilitating smooth financial operations and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain adherence to all Quality System procedures that impact the quality of products or services offered to customers.
• Actively contribute to a workplace culture that prioritizes patients through teamwork, agility, accountability, and respect.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Membership in a recognized accounting organization such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant multinational corporate experience, specifically with hands-on month-end close and reconciliation tasks.
• Familiarity with statutory accounting and VAT regulations within European countries is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Oracle or similar platforms is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies efficiently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities for effective cross-team collaboration.
• Adaptable and cooperative team player comfortable in dynamic and fast-paced settings.
• Exceptional detail orientation in financial reporting and reconciliation accuracy.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to task management.

Language Requirements

• Fluent in spoken and written English with the ability to present information clearly and respond to inquiries effectively.
