Role Overview

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of all regulatory, tax, and statistical filings.
  • Support the Finance Manager with the annual budgeting process.
  • Conduct stock control and perform stock reconciliations across multiple locations.
  • Assist in implementing, maintaining, and improving stock and IT management systems.
  • Coordinate with external auditors as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Maintain robust financial controls at all times.
  • Continuously review and enhance processes to improve standardization and automation.
  • Support preparation of grants and R&D tax credit claims.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex accounts payable and accounts receivable issues.
  • Participate in broader finance team initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance and promote improvements in food quality and safety culture.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development for career progression.
  • Produce ad hoc financial reports as requested.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA credentials and 1-2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven leadership skills to manage and motivate an accounting team while fostering a professional and positive workplace.
  • Strong IT proficiency, notably advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Insight software is a plus.
  • A keen interest in manufacturing with motivation to gain deep understanding of business operations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with Operations and Supply Chain teams.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail for producing accurate financial data.
