About the Role

Join G4S Secure Solutions Ireland as a Security Officer protecting various locations in Roscrea, Nenagh, and Rathdowney. In this dynamic role, you will safeguard client premises, assets, and individuals by conducting patrols, monitoring CCTV and access control systems, managing alarms and emergencies, and providing excellent customer service. The position requires flexibility to cover shifts across all days and nights as per the roster and demands a full Irish driving licence with your own transportation.

Compensation and Hours

The base pay is €15.41 per hour. Additional pay includes a Sunday premium of €3.44 per hour, €20 for unsociable shift hours, overtime paid at 1.5x after 96 hours within a fortnight, and double pay on bank holidays worked, all in accordance with the ERO order. The contract stipulates 24 contracted hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine patrols to ensure the security of sites, personnel, and visitors.
  • Monitor security devices including CCTV and access control systems to detect and report risks promptly.
  • Respond professionally to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
  • Document incidents meticulously and report suspicious activities without delay.
  • Collaborate effectively with emergency responders as necessary to resolve issues.

Candidate Profile

  • Must hold a valid PSA Security Guarding licence.
  • Undergo screening and vetting with five years of verifiable employment and personal history.
  • Possess at least two years of experience in security work.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and remain composed under pressure.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor and strong commitment to high-quality service.
  • Show flexibility in working diverse shifts including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Possess strong observation and attention to detail skills for identifying unusual behavior or potential threats.
  • Maintain clear verbal and written communication and active listening skills for incident reporting and public interaction.
  • Handle conflict calmly, aiming to de-escalate tense situations and mediate disputes.
  • Provide courteous and professional assistance to visitors and clients.
  • Be knowledgeable in emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR, and evacuation.
  • Accurately document incidents following legal and company standards.
  • Be proficient in operating security systems such as alarms, CCTV, and access controls.
  • Use monitoring software and surveillance equipment effectively to prevent security breaches.
  • Exhibit quick decision-making capabilities in emergencies to assess risks and carry out appropriate actions.
  • Work collaboratively with other officers, law enforcement, and emergency services in team-based settings.
  • Maintain attention to detail and consistency in routine security checks.
  • Demonstrate strong crisis management skills, including crowd control and coordination of evacuations.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritizing patrolling, monitoring, and administrative duties.

Additional Information

The role demands full flexibility for shift patterns to cover seven days a week, including days and nights.
