Overview
This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating School Meal Nutrition Programs, including oversight of Site Monitors, Site Supervisors, and volunteers/interns. The role involves collaboration with sites to enhance program effectiveness and supports Fresno EOC’s mission to foster a sustainable community free of poverty.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and assist the Dietary Manager to coordinate At-Risk After School (ARA) and Summer Food Services Program (SFSP), including staff and volunteer oversight.
- Manage daily operations of ARA and SFSP sites.
- Provide training and guidance to site supervisors, monitors, and volunteers to ensure adherence to USDA guidelines.
- Conduct annual training sessions for Site Supervisors.
- Ensure timely and accurate meal order processing and adjustments.
- Collaborate with sites to increase program participation via outreach efforts.
- Continuously train and supervise ARA and SFSP personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all monitoring requirements and provide assistance to site monitors as necessary.
- Review, maintain, and prepare daily and weekly records and reports for claims processing.
- Perform monthly audits on claimed meals and enter monthly claims into the database.
- Implement marketing strategies to promote ARA and SFSP programs and improve participation.
- Complete monthly program expense reports timely.
- Travel locally for work-related activities using reliable transportation.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in Nutrition or related field preferred.
- At least two years of food service experience preferred.
- Minimum two years of clerical experience required.
- Food Handlers card required within 30 days of hire if not already held.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and business software for record keeping.
- Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
- Ability to read and comprehend procedural documents, conduct arithmetic, and complete forms.
- Strong presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual ability in English and Spanish or another secondary language preferred based on client needs.
- Availability to work non-standard hours and days.
- Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, required vehicle insurance, and eligibility to drive agency vehicles.
Physical Demands
This job requires frequent sitting, hand use, talking, hearing, standing, walking, and reaching; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities needed include near and distance vision, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
