Role Overview
As Halter expands its hardware offerings and extends into new markets, maintaining an effective balance between sales forecast and manufacturing capacity becomes critically important. The Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Lead role is pivotal for overseeing this balance. This inaugural dedicated S&OP position at Halter involves building the entire S&OP framework from the ground up—designing meeting cadences, developing tools, and fostering collaboration between commercial and operations teams to create a trusted, cohesive plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and take charge of Halter's full S&OP cycle, from demand assessment to supply evaluation and executive review.
- Lead monthly S&OP meetings by integrating stakeholders from sales, forecasting, supply planning, and operations to reach agreed plans.
- Detect supply-demand discrepancies early, assess their impact, and facilitate cross-functional resolutions.
- Maintain comprehensive oversight of inventory levels and product availability across various markets.
- Coordinate planning across international markets, addressing unique lead times, shipping methods, regulations, and regional demand profiles.
- Prepare executive-level meeting materials highlighting key decision points and trade-offs.
- Monitor and enforce follow-through on S&OP action items.
- Continuously enhance the S&OP process in line with company growth and evolving product complexity.
- Create and maintain reporting structures that provide leadership with clear visibility into supply status and forecast reliability.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience leading S&OP or integrated business processes within hardware or manufacturing sectors.
- A track record of designing or significantly improving S&OP procedures instead of merely participating in established ones.
- Outstanding facilitation and meeting management capabilities, adept at uniting stakeholders around common priorities.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable handling complex datasets and constructing planning models to validate assumptions.
- Fluent in commercial and operational language, capable of discussing demand risks with sales and lead times with supply planners.
- A proactive, resolution-focused mindset driven by tackling ambiguity and resolving planning imbalances promptly.
- Emotionally intelligent, low ego, resilient in the face of difficult conversations and open to evolving viewpoints for the best outcomes.
Benefits
- Access to nutritious snacks and beverages during work hours.
- Partnership with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support employee wellness.
- Generous parental leave policies including six months for primary caregivers and four weeks for secondary caregivers.
- An annual personal development allowance of $1,000 to encourage ongoing learning and growth.
- Wellness days and unlimited paid annual leave to promote work-life balance.
- An attractive remuneration package combining salary, benefits, and participation in an employee stock ownership plan.
