- Back the Workplace Safety Manager in running assigned safety campaigns, internal communication rollouts, and department-level initiatives that improve safety outcomes and lower risk.
- Step in to support the business when the Workplace Safety Manager is unavailable, and provide assistance to other Safety Specialists when needed.
- Make sure the behavioural safety management programme is implemented effectively and that enough staff in the relevant departments are trained to support KPI targets.

- Investigate accidents and incidents affecting employees, contractors, and visitors, identify root causes, and recommend preventive actions to avoid repeat occurrences.
- Participate in Health and Safety Committee meetings, follow up on corrective actions, ensure compliance with legal and company requirements, and support the Workplace Safety Manager in creating and delivering safety training with the L&D team.
- Apply ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety standards, conduct audits to confirm compliance, and assist management during external client audits.
Qualifications and Experience
The position calls for a strong grounding in occupational health and safety, along with at least 6 years of relevant experience in a comparable role. Experience in catering, aviation, or manufacturing operations would be an advantage.
Required Certifications and Education
- NEBOSH International or General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is mandatory.
- Lead Auditor certification for ISO 45001:2018 is mandatory.
- Membership of IOSH or another recognised safety body is preferred.
- A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, or an acceptable alternative qualification, is required.
Skills and Competencies
Suitable candidates should have a strong understanding of workplace safety legislation and current best practice, with hands-on experience in policy development, advisory support, risk assessment, and workplace audits within a large organisation. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to liaise confidently with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
