Job description
Role Overview
Leos Investments Ltd, a company specializing in mining contracting, diamond drilling, and transport logistics, seeks to hire a Safety Officer for its operations in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province of Zambia.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections at the mining site to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) training sessions for employees to promote a culture of safety.
- Ensure the company complies fully with mining safety standards and regulations applicable in Zambia.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- Have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience specifically within the mining industry.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Zambian Occupational Health and Safety and mining legislation.
- Certification in First Aid or Firefighting is a beneficial addition.
