Role Overview
We are seeking a Safety Officer to join our expanding team at our Kaki Bukit site in Singapore. Reporting directly to the HSE Manager, you will perform a variety of routine and specialized safety tasks to ensure compliance with statutory safety and health requirements and aerodrome safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the HSE Manager in maintaining compliance with safety, health, environmental, and welfare regulations aligned with project and aerodrome safety protocols.
- Execute tasks under the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH Officer) Regulations and adhere to the WSH Act, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Undertake roles such as SGSecure Representative, Risk Management Champion, Work-At-Height Assessor/Manager, Safe Management Officer, and other WSQ competency roles as needed.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review the company’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Management System to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and disseminate EHS policies, objectives, and targets to promote awareness and monitor their progress within the organization.
- Identify EHS training needs and provide training sessions to increase employee awareness.
- Engage cooperatively with stakeholders across multiple business units and organizational levels.
- Offer EHS support across Singapore sites and coordinate related external audits, maintaining certification standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Conduct internal audits, perform gap analyses and root cause investigations, and recommend corrective actions to uphold Element’s safety standards.
- Serve as Document Controller for EHS records ensuring system documentation is current and accurate.
- Investigate all EHS incidents/accidents thoroughly, collate data, prepare reports, and propose measures to prevent recurrence.
- Deliver EHS inductions for new hires, contractors, temporary workers, and visitors as necessary.
- Manage safety effectiveness for Element employees, vendors, contract workers, and visitors and ensure contractor compliance with safety procedures on-site.
- Liaise and coordinate with governmental bodies including MOM, NEA, HSA, LTA, PUB, CAG, and SCDF regarding all EHS matters.
- Stay informed about local EHS regulations and developments, sharing relevant information to support continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall EHS program.
Qualifications and Skills
- A diploma or degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline.
- Certification in safety such as NEBOSH, WSH, or IOSH.
- Between two and five years of relevant experience in safety roles.
- Strong communication skills paired with solid problem-solving capabilities.
