Join Saudi Aramco as a Safety Engineer specializing in drilling and workover operations within the Loss Prevention division. This full-time role based in Saudi Arabia offers an exceptional opportunity for experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professionals to contribute to large-scale upstream oil and gas activities across numerous locations in the Kingdom.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and implement the Saudi Aramco Safety Management System (SMS) throughout drilling and workover operations.
• Conduct thorough inspections of both onshore and offshore drilling rigs, workover machinery, and related support facilities.
• Utilize expert knowledge of well control equipment and protocols, requiring participation in Basic Well Control School.
• Assess, identify, and mitigate significant safety hazards such as work at height, lockout-tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work processes, hydrogen sulfide exposure, confined space entry, and excavation risks.
• Perform Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), compliance audits, incident investigations, and insurance assessments.
• Formulate and evaluate corporate safety standards and operational procedures for upstream projects.
• Review oil and gas facility designs to ensure compliance with industry and company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Develop and assist with Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) and participate in emergency drills as an observer.
• Respond promptly to emergency events or incidents, including outside regular working hours.
• Lead investigations into incidents to determine root causes and enforce corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Deliver training on loss prevention to employees, contractors, and affiliated external parties.
• Guide and mentor junior safety and loss prevention personnel.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience in upstream oil and gas environments, preferably in roles such as HSE officer, drilling safety officer, or loss prevention specialist, with exposure to drilling, well planning, reservoir management, geology, geophysics, project oversight, field development, SIMOPS, and rig safety inspections in both offshore and onshore contexts.
• In-depth technical knowledge of well control methods, rig inspections, management audits, safety program design, and emergency response planning.
• Strong command of verbal and written English, with the ability to produce detailed reports and deliver presentations to senior management.

Compensation and Benefits

The monthly salary is estimated between SAR 10,000 and 22,000, subject to final offer based on qualifications, experience, and nationality.
