Robot Showcase Assistant / Robot Operator

About the Role

We deliver live experiences featuring advanced robotics, where precise timing and flawless execution are critical. As a Robot Operator, you will be responsible for bringing performance robots to life during live events. This involves rehearsing, operating robots on stage, ensuring safety, and managing the smooth operation of all event-related logistics and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate performance robots in real-time at public events, following cues with precision and timeliness.
• Handle setup and dismantling of robotic equipment before and after shows, ensuring secure packaging each time.
• Conduct thorough pre-show checks, perform functional and safety tests, and promptly escalate any issues prior to audience exposure.
• Troubleshoot minor faults efficiently under pressure during live performances.
• Implement and monitor safety measures including exclusion zones, emergency stop protocols, and crowd separation when robots are active near people.
• Coordinate with venue managers and event staff to verify specifications such as space, power availability, flooring, access, and schedule details.
• Participate in site visits and technical walkthroughs to identify and communicate any venue-related constraints early on.
• Instruct client personnel and volunteers regarding robot operation limits and safety boundaries.
• Represent the organization professionally onsite, resolving minor problems independently and escalating critical concerns appropriately.
• Assist in loading, unloading, transporting, and securing robotic devices and related equipment; verify inventory for completeness and condition before departure.
• Collaborate with transport providers to coordinate collection and delivery timing of equipment.
• Prepare and maintain event-related documentation including post-event reports outlining performance, incidents, and improvement recommendations.
• Manage expense tracking, timesheets, travel bookings, and maintain shared calendars and schedules to keep the team informed.
• Support the AI Factory operations during off-event periods by contributing to administrative, research, and technical tasks.
