Retail Assistant Store Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a Retail Assistant Store Manager to join our Petmania store in Sligo. This position supports the Store Manager and plays a vital role in the smooth and successful operation of the store. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of management experience in retail or sales and demonstrate a genuine passion for motivating team members to perform at their best. A willingness to learn new business areas, such as managing the Grooming Studio, and a hands-on leadership approach on the sales floor are essential. This full-time role requires availability to work at least one weekend day per week, reflecting the retail trading schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive sales performance, focusing on retail growth.
• Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently met.
• Support recruitment efforts and manage staff performance alongside the Store Manager.
• Contribute to the Grooming Studio's success by maximizing bookings and encouraging repeat customers.
• Manage stock processes including stock takes, ordering, and replenishment.
• Oversee the welfare and comfort of the store's live animals.
• Coordinate and support special in-store events such as Operation Transpawmation and Puppy of the Year.

Training and Development

Although retail supervisory experience is required, comprehensive training on Petmania's product range and pet care aspects will be provided. Managers regularly participate in meetings to stay updated on business developments.
