Role Overview

The role involves conducting thorough fundamental investment analysis on particular sectors and individual stocks, aiding both the monitoring of current holdings and the discovery of new investment opportunities. You will attend analyst meetings, broker conferences, and management briefings, prepare comprehensive reports, and present your insights and recommendations regularly to the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed fundamental research and financial modelling, utilizing valuation tools such as discounted cash flow (DCF) methods focusing on protecting downside risk.
• Engage in stress-testing investment assumptions under varying macroeconomic and market scenarios.
• Identify asymmetric return opportunities aligned with an absolute return investment approach.
• Maintain regular interaction with sell-side analysts, management teams, and broker events.
• Deliver frequent presentations to team members sharing investment views and proposals.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• At least three years of experience as an equity research analyst, either buy-side or sell-side, with strong expertise in financial modelling.
• Deep knowledge of at least one industry sector within European equities.
• A university degree in any discipline.
• Proven ability to work independently, make decisions, and cope effectively under pressure.
• Strong analytical capability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Skilled at multitasking, organizing, and rapidly processing large data sets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Bloomberg and other market data platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of or progress toward IMC or CFA certification.

• The role supports portfolios within the Absolute Return Equities team.
