Job description

About Talkiatry

Talkiatry is a telehealth-focused mental health practice designed by clinicians to provide accessible, high-quality outpatient care. Our care delivery, processes, and infrastructure prioritize supporting clinicians and expanding patient access to mental healthcare in a fully virtual environment.

Role Overview

This position suits independently licensed therapists seeking predictable W-2 employment with full benefits, flexible scheduling within a structured outpatient model, minimal administrative workload, and clear patient care expectations. Our therapy delivery model is intentionally created for virtual outpatient care rather than adapted from inpatient or hospital frameworks, enabling thoughtful, efficient clinical service.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Deliver 100% remote outpatient therapy sessions
  • Treat patients predominantly with lower to moderate acuity conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and similar diagnoses
  • Conduct standardized session durations with 60-minute intake and follow-up appointments
  • Maintain a steady outpatient caseload with transparent treatment objectives
  • Exclude inpatient, intensive outpatient program, partial hospitalization program, or crisis call duties
  • Collaborate through internal referral networks including psychiatrists
  • Benefit from comprehensive operational assistance covering scheduling, billing, intake coordination, credentialing, and licensing

Clinical Autonomy and Work Flexibility

  • Exercise independent clinical decision-making within evidence-based guidelines
  • Adjust weekly schedules and availability in accordance with operational standards
  • Engage in clinical approaches shaped by practicing clinicians, emphasizing professional judgment and shared quality accountability
  • Work independently while having access to clinical leadership for support and consultation
  • Focus on patient care with administrative tasks handled by support teams

Qualifications

  • Hold active independent licensing as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or equivalent
  • Have an unrestricted, current license with support for multiple states where applicable
  • Possess two or more active state licenses (excluding California, New York, and Massachusetts)
  • Demonstrate comfort managing a consistent outpatient caseload
  • Exhibit strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and autonomous decision-making capability
  • Adapt well to a fast-paced but sustainable outpatient environment
  • Preferred experience includes outpatient, community mental health, hospital, intensive outpatient program, or other structured clinical settings
  • Preferred familiarity with structured, skills-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT, MI, or DBT-informed care
  • This role is not intended for those seeking supervision towards licensure or interested exclusively in independent 1099/private practice models; this is a collaborative team environment

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-time or part-time employment as a W-2 employee
  • Base salary starting at $70,000 annually with potential additional incentives up to $20,000
  • Salary increases based on tenure after two years
  • Employer-covered health, dental, and vision insurance premiums (up to full coverage)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions
  • Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays
  • Benefits for parental leave and long-term retention rewards, such as a 4-week paid sabbatical following five years of service
  • Full malpractice insurance paid by the employer with occurrence-based coverage
  • Continuing medical education (CME) reimbursement and dedicated CME days
  • Assistance and upfront payment for licensing fees
  • Provision of technology equipment to support remote work
