Overview
The Dallas Independent School District seeks a Registrar to manage student records and administrative duties for high school students in grades 9 through 12. This position requires strict accuracy and thoroughness in maintaining and overseeing student records and attendance at the campus level.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the distribution of admit and tardy cards and manage student exit excuses effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate student information including class schedules, addresses, contact numbers, and attendance records.
- Handle reporting and recordkeeping duties related to student attendance, enrollment changes such as transfers and withdrawals, and prepare statistical reports and census documentation.
- Provide assistance to students, parents, and visitors in matters related to enrollment, transfers, and attendance.
- Manage and ensure completeness of student cumulative record folders, including obtaining transcripts and records for new district enrollees.
- Serve as the official custodian of all campus educational records and interface with other districts on transfer records.
- Plan and organize tasks based on school priorities and departmental scheduling.
- Utilize computer systems for managing student data, data transmissions, database queries, printed materials, and attendance systems including TREx for cumulative record management.
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing educational and administrative demands and commit to ongoing professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent in the United States.
- Have at least two years of office experience, with an emphasis on recordkeeping; experience in maintaining student records within a public school preferred.
- Experience with computerized recordkeeping, particularly in secondary education settings, is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
- Consistent and punctual attendance at the worksite is mandatory as this role is campus-based.
Work Environment
This position requires regular presence at the assigned campus (Townview-Health Professions Magnet). The work environment typically has moderate noise levels. Travel within the school district is required. Remote or alternate work arrangements are not permitted since on-site presence is essential.
Compensation
The position offers a minimum salary of $38,119 and a median salary of approximately $48,868 annually.
