Overview
Chesterfield County is seeking a Real Property Agent to join their Utilities Department. This full-time role is based in Chesterfield, VA, offering an annual salary ranging from $59,053 to $79,720. The position involves comprehensive responsibilities related to real estate transactions within the county, including contract negotiations, document preparation, and property evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate terms and conditions for real estate property transactions.
- Prepare and manage sales contracts and related legal documentation.
- Engage with property owners to discuss project details and formal purchase offers.
- Coordinate the closing process for real estate deals.
- Conduct title searches and review property plans, subdivisions, commercial sites, and highway road plans for compliance with county standards.
- Estimate property values and project costs.
- Respond to inquiries and process requests related to county real estate.
- Perform other duties as assigned under the department’s objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, real estate, business administration, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in real estate acquisition, disposition, or property appraisal valuation, or equivalent education and training.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record based on the Virginia DMV point system (no six or more demerit points in the last 24 months or one major violation within 36 months).
- Submit out-of-state driving records if applicable, with a minimum of three years history, dated within 30 days of the interview.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, FBI criminal background check, and verification of education credentials.
Working Hours and Location
The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Utilities Department location in Chesterfield County.
