Job description

Role Overview

Join Galliford Try as a Quantity Surveyor in Leicestershire to support commercial and pre-construction aspects of significant regional infrastructure projects within a major program. Collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager and report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage contract phases from award to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver support for pre-construction commercial activities including developing budgets, cost plans, tenders, and submissions.
  • Track and evaluate risks, budgets, procurement status, and supplier performance to ensure effective project control.
  • Maintain financial documentation, forecasts, risk registers, and procurement trackers accurately.
  • Assist with procurement planning, supplier communication, and enquiry preparation.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations for value, compliance, and risk, providing comparisons and recommendations while maintaining procurement records.
  • Contribute to contract reviews by identifying risks, gaps, and contractual obligations, ensuring supplier agreements align with primary contract terms.
  • Support reporting on cost, value, margins, progress, budgets, and commercial risks.
  • Engage in continual training and knowledge sharing within the team.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience within construction, telecommunications, or related sectors.
  • Familiarity with NEC3 and NEC4 contract frameworks.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and commercial awareness.
  • Proficient with data handling, procurement, and cost planning methodologies.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative in approach.
  • Experience with defence or Ministry of Defence projects is advantageous.
  • Ability to acquire Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance is mandatory.

Working Conditions
