Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and contribute to the successful completion of a major civil infrastructure project located in County Kerry, Ireland. This position is ideal for a commercially adept professional with expertise spanning various civil works such as earthworks, roadworks, drainage systems, utilities, and reinforced concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial management of the project from the pre-construction phase through to final account closure.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate valuations, variations, and final accounts in line with project progress.
- Accurately measure and evaluate work completed according to contract stipulations.
- Keep track of project budgets, costs, productivity levels, and cash flow while identifying any commercial risks and opportunities.
- Generate comprehensive monthly cost reports, financial forecasts, and updates regarding commercial performance.
- Oversee procurement, payments, valuations, and final accounts related to subcontractors.
- Manage contract documentation ensuring full adherence to contractual requirements.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of five years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering industry.
- Expertise in working on diverse civil engineering projects including earthworks, roadworks, drainage, utilities, and structural works.
- Comprehensive understanding of Irish construction contracts and commercial practices.
- Strong negotiation capabilities coupled with analytical thinking and effective problem-solving skills.
