Position Overview
The role of a Quality Control Engineer specializing in Tool and Die involves ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness of molds, dies, and fixtures. This is achieved through meticulous inspection, validation of manufacturing processes, and addressing production issues to uphold quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting dimensional inspections of newly manufactured, repaired, or altered tools, dies, and molds using precision instruments.
- Supporting production trials including initial runs and first articles to detect tool performance discrepancies and confirm compliance with quality criteria.
- Performing root cause analyses of defects or failures in tooling and manufacturing, employing problem-solving methodologies such as Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Design of Experiments (DOE) to apply corrective measures.
- Documenting all inspection outcomes, trial data, and any adjustments made to designs or processes thoroughly and accurately.
- Partnering with designers and toolmakers to enhance the design of tools and improve the manufacturing workflow, particularly for molding and stamping operations.
- Ensuring all tooling activities conform to relevant industry standards, including IATF 16949, and customer-specified quality requirements.
Qualifications and Additional Information
