Quality Control Engineer - Fit-Out and Finishing Projects

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled QA/QC Engineer with expertise in fit-out and finishing construction projects to oversee quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle. The engineer will ensure all finishing and architectural works strictly comply with the approved designs, technical standards, and contractual obligations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create and maintain QA/QC frameworks including procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality checklists.
• Conduct routine site inspections for fit-out and finishing operations, verifying compliance with specifications and drawings.
• Inspect elements such as flooring, ceilings, paints, wall finishes, partitions, doors, joinery, and tiling to confirm quality adherence.
• Assess materials, workmanship, and installation procedures to ensure conformity with approved documentation.
• Manage documentation such as Inspection Requests, Method Statements, Material Submittals, and quality reports.
• Detect quality deficiencies and collaborate with teams to implement corrective and preventative measures.
• Prepare and supervise Non-Conformance Reports and ensure prompt resolution of issues.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders including project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to uphold quality standards.
• Monitor on-site application of approved construction methods and materials.
• Maintain comprehensive quality records including inspection reports, test outcomes, and checklists.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and final quality assessments.
• Support project objectives by minimizing defects and ensuring timely delivery.
• Ensure strict adherence to company policies, project requirements, codes, and standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related fields.
• Proven track record as a QA/QC Engineer in fit-out, interior finishing, or architectural construction projects.
• In-depth understanding of construction processes related to fit-out and finishing works and associated quality standards.
• Familiarity with QA/QC documentation such as ITPs, Method Statements, Inspection Requests, NCRs, and material approvals.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent detail orientation with the ability to identify defects and potential quality issues.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving aptitude.
• Experience collaborating effectively with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Experience on projects within GCC or Saudi Arabia is highly preferred.
