Role Overview and Responsibilities
As a Purchasing Analyst, you will oversee contract and procurement processes from initiation through completion, ensuring optimal purchasing decisions aligned with Verizon's objectives. You will coordinate resources and collaborate with partners to execute contracts, guaranteeing compliance with IT, regulatory, and global standards. This role requires expertise in procurement and global contract management to secure the best resources at optimal prices with seamless workflow.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers throughout the contract lifecycle. Handling conflicts constructively and working effectively under tight deadlines with multiple concurrent projects will be essential.
- Investigate and resolve issues that block Purchase Orders from being automatically generated from requisitions and shopping carts.
- Create emergency and other atypical purchase orders as necessary.
- Use daily reports to identify and clear bottlenecks in purchase requisitions.
- Work collaboratively with engineering and other teams to troubleshoot procurement issues.
- Manage and update delivery dates for all active purchase orders.
- Administer Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) for incorrect or damaged items.
- Address and resolve vendor and carrier performance concerns to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials to specified locations.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies to resolve order exceptions.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience demonstrated through professional work.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technology-related discipline.
- Familiarity with project management tools, international procurement, and contract management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience creating reports tailored for diverse audiences across different levels and functions.
