Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager to join a key Settlements Transformation Program within a top global financial institution. This position will spearhead efforts to design and deliver the target operating model and technology strategy for Settlements, managing large-scale transformational projects across global markets operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee settlement transformation projects from initial planning through successful execution.
- Ensure timely delivery within agreed scope, budget, and quality parameters.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, manage dependencies, milestones, and key deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with senior business leaders, technology departments, operations teams, and external partners.
- Forge strong connections with executive stakeholders, providing frequent updates on progress, potential risks, and project outcomes.
- Identify, evaluate, escalate, and mitigate project risks and challenges proactively.
- Adhere to governance standards, regulatory mandates, and corporate policies while maintaining project governance forums for decision-making support.
- Manage finances including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking variances.
- Plan resource needs and manage capacity to optimize allocation across initiatives.
- Create business cases, perform cost-benefit and ROI analyses for strategic investments.
- Drive transformation activities across operational and technological units.
- Support migration planning, execution, testing phases, go-live events, and stabilization post-implementation.
- Establish detailed migration runbooks and contingency plans.
- Produce comprehensive project status reports, executive-level presentations, and dashboards.
- Maintain documentation such as JIRA boards, Confluence pages, meeting minutes, and governance artifacts.
- Deliver clear communications to diverse audiences including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years of project management experience within Investment Banking, Capital Markets, or Financial Services.
- Proven track record handling large-scale transformation or change initiatives in Global Markets, Operations, or Settlements environments.
- In-depth understanding of project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, PMI, or Prince2.
- Proficiency in managing project budgets, financials, resource planning and capacity management.
- Experienced in overseeing project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and governance expertise.
- Comprehensive knowledge of operational risk, governance, and regulatory requirements in financial services.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, presentation and communication abilities.
- Capability to interpret complex financial and operational datasets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Broadridge platforms such as GLOSS, BRx, or equivalent post-trade technologies.
- Background in settlement operations, post-trade processing, securities services, custody, or capital markets operations.
- Experience in managing migration projects, platform upgrades, or operating model transformations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong background in PMO or project management with a specialization in Settlements, Post-Trade Operations, or Capital Markets.
- Effective in leading cross-functional transformation initiatives involving business, operations, and technology stakeholders.
- Comfortable engaging with senior leadership and managing projects in a fast-moving global environment.
- Demonstrated excellence in delivering complex programs while balancing governance, risk, and stakeholder expectations.
