Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Project Manager in the Florida Innovation team acts as a versatile guide for innovators and teams, steering early-stage ideas from conception through validation and initial formation. This role supports diverse clinical, operational, research, and administrative stakeholders by translating challenges into clear innovation pathways and facilitating acceleration of learning and decision-making while minimizing obstacles for innovators.

• Develop and implement innovative solutions delivering operational and financial benefits.
• Manage performance metrics, planning, and resource allocation.
• Communicate effectively and engage stakeholders thoroughly.
• Serve as the main contact point for innovators entering the Florida innovation ecosystem, shaping ideas into defined problems and actionable next steps.
• Lead early ideation and discovery phases including needs validation, stakeholder mapping, feasibility studies, and selecting innovation pathways.
• Apply and adapt standardized innovation tools and processes to project needs.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration including clinical, digital, legal, finance, research, and enterprise innovation teams.
• Simultaneously oversee multiple projects at varying maturity stages ensuring progress and comprehensive documentation.
• Conduct market analyses, literature reviews, and other research efforts to support decision-making.
• Monitor project progress, risks, and learning outcomes; deliver concise updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Participate and contribute to refining Florida Innovation’s programs, workflows, and services.
• Engage with campus innovation events, working groups, and intake forums to promote collaboration.
• Lead projects independently from initiation through completion within Mayo Clinic’s project management standards.
• Manage projects of medium to large scope with moderate to high risks, budget responsibilities, and multiple stakeholder interrelationships.
• Facilitate problem-solving, decision-making, and change management with minimal supervision while applying entrepreneurial negotiation skills and strong business acumen.
• May oversee staff from various departments and vendors, demonstrating and advising on project management best practices.
• Implement Agile methodologies including monitoring scrum processes and enhancing team efficiency, motivation, and quality standards.
• Guide project teams by coaching Agile practices, removing impediments, fostering trust, facilitating discussions and conflict resolution, and supporting Product Owner responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7 years of project management/business experience or a master's degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Education preferably in project management, business administration, or management fields.
• Additional certifications such as Certified Product Management, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) are advantageous.
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for employment sponsorship now or in the future.

Working Conditions

This full-time role requires working standard business hours Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as necessary. The position is exempt from overtime provisions.

Compensation and Location

• Annual salary range: $93,392 to $140,129.
• Work location: Jacksonville, Florida.
