Role Overview

The Project Manager for Datacentres based in Riyadh will spearhead the delivery of HVAC projects specific to data centers, managing all stages from design development through execution, commissioning, and final handover. This pivotal role ensures compliance with technical standards, timely project delivery, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction. The manager acts as the primary liaison among internal teams, consultants, contractors, developers, and service operations to guarantee project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design stage by ensuring that Daikin’s HVAC solutions align with project specifications and client expectations.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to review equipment selections, submittals, and confirm design compliance.
• Engage with MEP and design consultants as well as other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and ensure specification of Daikin products.
• Identify technical risks and propose value engineering strategies that maintain performance and reliability.
• Track design progression and the punctual submission of technical documentation.
• Manage project execution from order confirmation through to commissioning and handover, coordinating with contractors, developers, and consultants.
• Maintain project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time completion.
• Supervise equipment delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning in line with project requirements.
• Resolve technical and commercial issues during project execution by working in tandem with internal departments.
• Conduct regular project meetings and report progress to senior management.
• Collaborate with Service, Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics, Factory, and Finance teams to support seamless project delivery and meet commercial goals.
• Ensure that all project documentation, including approvals, variation orders, and close-out documents, are accurately completed.
• Maintain compliance with all project specifications, internal Daikin standards, and international data centre requirements.
• Monitor quality, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project execution phase.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts by capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous enhancement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience managing HVAC projects, with a focus on data centres or other mission-critical facilities.
• PMP certification preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of chilled water systems, precision cooling units (CRAH/CRAC), heat rejection solutions, and commissioning protocols.
• Experience collaborating with consultants, contractors, and developers on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong skills in project management, leadership, and stakeholder communication.
• Technical proficiency in HVAC systems designed for mission-critical operations.
• Competencies in planning, scheduling, and risk management.
• Commercial acumen including contract administration expertise.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Capability to handle multiple complex projects concurrently.
• Familiarity with software tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office suites.
