About the Opportunity

Business Review Group is hiring an experienced Project Manager to assist the Department of Defence’s Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise on the GWEO2092 project.

The role covers complete project management support across governance, planning, reporting, acquisition, and contract administration. You will work alongside the Project Manager and Integrated Project Team (IPT) to help drive project delivery, support governance forums, and contribute to nationally important capability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of GWEO2092 project goals, milestones, and strategic outcomes.
  • Create and upkeep project schedules, risk logs, battle rhythms, and action trackers.
  • Draft monthly progress updates and corporate reporting material.
  • Assist with GWEO CABSUB preparation and yearly planning tasks.
  • Help close out remediation actions from Independent Assurance Reviews (IARs).
  • Keep current the Integrated Project Management Plan (IPMP), Communications Plan, Stakeholder Plan, Project Execution Strategy, Acquisition Strategy, Materiel Acquisition Agreements, and Project Collaborative Agreements.
  • Organise Integrated Project Team (IPT), Project Steering Group, and other governance meetings.
  • Prepare agendas, briefing packs, committee papers, minutes, and action registers.
  • Support Smart Buyer Reviews, Independent Assurance Reviews, and Lessons Learned workshops.
  • Develop executive briefs, presentations, and committee papers.
  • Track risks, issues, dependencies, and formal reporting requirements.
  • Assist with organisational reporting and financial reporting tasks.

Commercial and Procurement Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case paperwork.
  • Draft Exemptions to Procurement (ETPs), Section 23 approvals, and Liability Risk Assessments.
  • Support the setup and amendment of contracts.
  • Work with Materiel Procurement, Legal Services, and Financial Advisers.
  • Prepare documentation required for DEFMAT approval and execution.
  • Assist in building Commonwealth Contracting Plans (CCPs) for Direct Commercial Sales contracts.

Required Experience

  • Background in Defence acquisition or capability project delivery.
  • Proven capability in governance, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with project scheduling, risk management, and issue tracking.
  • Experience supporting Defence committees and senior governance forums.
  • Understanding of Defence procurement, acquisition, and contract management processes.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to documentation quality.

Highly Desirable

  • Previous work in GWEO or CASG environments.
  • Exposure to Smart Buyer Reviews and Independent Assurance Reviews.
  • Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
  • Familiarity with Defence procurement documents such as ETPs, Section 23 approvals, and DEFMAT.
  • Knowledge of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS).
