Programme & Asset Engineer

About the Role

As a Programme and Asset Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and executing maintenance, renewal, and asset enhancement programs across the Manawatū IDC network. Combining your engineering expertise, asset management insights, and hands-on planning skills, you'll help deliver safe, dependable, and enduring infrastructure works.

This position offers diversity, involving both office-based tasks and fieldwork. Collaborating closely with crews, supervisors, clients, and stakeholders, you'll translate asset data and network requirements into feasible work programs. Your responsibilities include identifying risks early, resolving issues efficiently, and contributing to improved network and community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance, renewal, and minor capital works projects.
• Evaluate asset condition, defect, and performance data to prioritize work and enhance network results.
• Conduct asset inspections, engineering assessments, and technical reviews to inform sound decision-making.
• Collaborate with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure programs remain practical, attainable, and on schedule.
• Support reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives related to program delivery and asset performance.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Asset Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Possesses experience in program planning, asset management, maintenance engineering, or civil infrastructure execution.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of asset lifecycle planning, condition evaluation, and renewal decision processes.
• Exhibits excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities to effectively engage with field teams and clients.
• Holds a current Class 1 driver's license and is committed to safety, quality, and ongoing improvement.
