About the Role
This senior advisor position is dedicated to leading pivotal regulatory implementation projects within a strictly regulated healthcare framework in the United States. Serving as a crucial operational strategist, the role requires translating complex legal, policy, and compliance directives into actionable, structured execution plans. Bridging healthcare operations, compliance, policy, and program management, it demands strong leadership across functions to drive regulatory adherence and operational efficiency. The role suits professionals skilled in strategic problem-solving who excel in navigating ambiguity to deliver clarity and impact on operational compliance, payment integrity, and healthcare service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead for business implementation concerning payment policies and coding initiatives, orchestrating implementation efforts aligned with compliance and regulatory needs.
- Analyze newly introduced and updated regulatory guidelines, evaluate their business implications, identify risks, and coordinate the response with relevant internal parties.
- Develop and oversee cross-functional implementation strategies engaging subject matter experts and aligning diverse teams while managing dependencies.
- Maintain comprehensive compliance action plans with timelines, deliverables, controls, and documentation to ensure objectives are achieved successfully.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Product, Operations, IT, and other teams to foster sustainable implementation outcomes.
- Support payment integrity and operational enhancement initiatives by providing compliance awareness and program management backing.
- Generate executive-level reports that track compliance progress, highlight risks, and pinpoint improvement opportunities.
- Assist in biomarker coding oversight, including list maintenance and procedural refinements.
- Coordinate compliance requirements across operational systems such as claims processing, pricing, benefit configurations, and authorization workflows.
- Identify challenges hindering implementation, propose solutions, escalate risks appropriately, and ensure transparent communication throughout project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in program management, product management, or a related role within complex, regulated environments.
- Proficient knowledge of healthcare operations, regulatory mandates, compliance standards, and execution methodologies.
- Experience supporting regulatory compliance through audits, inquiries, policies, and related initiatives.
- Background in health plans or healthcare organizations is highly desirable.
- Skilled in leading cross-departmental efforts involving Legal, Compliance, Product, Operations, IT, and business stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical capabilities to assess impacts, identify risks, and convert requirements into concrete plans.
- Strong communication skills for preparing executive and regulator-facing documentation.
- Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple projects independently and deliver outcomes efficiently.
- Familiarity with compliance/business tools such as OpenPages, iComply, Q&A Fast Map, Law Exchange, Tableau, Wrike, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Possession of compliance certifications like CHC, CPCO, CHPC, or CCEP is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare regulatory implementation and associated operational procedures is highly valued.
