Role overview
ABB is seeking a Production Engineer to support operations in the Electrification business within the Distribution Solutions division at Nashik, India. This position reports to the Operations Manager and focuses on keeping production activity organized, efficient, and aligned with schedule and quality expectations.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will coordinate and monitor shift progress against the production plan, making sure machinery, equipment, and assembly lines are used effectively across the production area. You will share regular updates with management, highlight issues affecting the line, and suggest improvements related to line arrangement, priority changes, and any critical situations. You will also work closely with the unit supervisor to maintain a productive environment and strengthen delivery and quality performance.
- Support management in adjusting manpower for leave, sickness, machine breakdowns, or changing priorities.
- Keep attention on output, efficiency, and meeting delivery timelines.
- Help assign, coordinate, and supervise shift orders and work-plan execution on the production line.
- Act as the shift lead when resolving technical, quality, and logistics-related issues.
Qualifications and experience
The role requires a full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of experience working with vacuum furnaces, pressing equipment, and welding equipment. Practical exposure to testing equipment operations such as HV testing and pressure measurement testing is also needed. Experience with vacuum interrupter testing, high-voltage components, magnetron testing, and helium leak testing is expected, along with basic working knowledge of SAP.
