About Latent
Latent is a pioneering clinical AI company dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare by building intelligent infrastructure. Their platform simplifies medication access by automating complex administrative healthcare workflows like prior authorizations, appeals, and 340B compliance. Leveraging clinical evidence from EHR data, Latent reduces administrative barriers and accelerates patients' access to necessary therapies.
With an $80 million Series A backed by top venture firms and healthcare investors, Latent serves over 2 million patients through more than 45 leading health systems nationally, including notable institutions such as Yale New Haven, Mount Sinai, UCSF, Ochsner, and Vanderbilt.
At Latent, the culture emphasizes rapid progress, strong ownership, and building impactful products that directly enhance patient care.
Role Overview
Joining the expanding design team, the Product Designer will drive the entire design process — from early problem identification to the final shipped product. Collaborating closely with engineering, product teams, and customers, they will create enterprise-level software that simplifies intricate clinical workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design efforts for key product features, balancing speed and polish to maintain progress without compromising quality.
- Craft enterprise software experiences by translating complex healthcare procedures into clear, user-friendly multi-user workflows for clinical and operational teams.
- Address diverse system states, permissions, and edge cases inherent in healthcare enterprise applications.
- Engage directly with healthcare customers to gather insights on clinical processes and identify pain points.
- Clarify ambiguous challenges into definitive product strategies, aligning user needs with long-term vision.
- Develop and uphold design foundations, standards, and scalable processes in partnership with engineering to ensure top-notch implementation and handoff quality.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience designing complex enterprise workflows and multi-user operational software, simplifying powerful toolsets.
- Demonstrated ownership of product design from inception to launch, including defining scope and direction beyond existing frameworks.
- Self-motivated and comfortable navigating ambiguity, independently progressing from problem discovery to product deployment.
- Adept at shipping high-quality features swiftly, knowing when to prioritize speed versus meticulous detail.
- Strong product thinking with clear opinions on product direction alongside UI design expertise.
- Excellent collaboration skills, thriving in cross-functional teams involving engineering, product management, and go-to-market, and able to communicate design rationale effectively to diverse audiences.
- Adaptable with a startup mindset, handling change with resilience and ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to AI-powered or data-centric products.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems, electronic health records (EHR), or clinical environments.
- Experience in startup or high-growth stages, particularly from seed rounds to Series A.
- Technical knowledge beneficial.
- Background in developing products centered around operational workflows.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance design productivity.
Why Work at Latent
- Contribute to critical AI solutions transforming healthcare delivery and patient medication access.
- Develop products with direct, life-saving patient impact.
- Foundational opportunity to shape the design function in a rapidly growing company.
- High ownership and influence over cutting-edge clinical AI products adopted by top health systems nationwide.
