About Solace
Solace is tackling the complexity of healthcare in the U.S., where the majority of adults struggle to navigate the system without support. Founded in 2022 and backed by prominent investors, Solace pairs patients with expert advocates and equips them with tools to make informed healthcare decisions for improved outcomes. The company operates as a fast-growing, mission-oriented startup dedicated to transforming healthcare delivery.
Role Overview
The Producer & Project Manager acts as the central operational figure in Solace's internal video production team. This role collaborates closely with editors, creatives, marketing personnel, and stakeholders to deliver engaging visual stories. Responsibilities span the entire production cycle—from initial concept through final output—ensuring seamless coordination, quality standards, and efficient delivery of video projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of video shoot production including scheduling, location arrangements, crew and vendor bookings, gear logistics, call sheets creation, and managing production on shoot days.
- Organize shoot productions both locally in the Bay Area and in other U.S. cities such as Miami and San Diego.
- Develop and oversee production budgets, monitor expenditures, and process vendor payments accurately.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with freelance crews, rental suppliers, studios, and other vendors across multiple regions.
- Coordinate technical support and vendors for company events including audiovisual setups, stage visuals, and event photography.
- Work thoughtfully and professionally with interview subjects, who are often patients and caregivers sharing sensitive health experiences.
- Manage post-production workflows by acting as the liaison between the video team and various departments, handling project intakes and maintaining effective communication.
- Maintain schedules and workload distribution for a post-production team consisting of senior and assistant editors.
- Facilitate feedback collection and consolidation, translating stakeholder critiques into actionable guidance while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Ensure all video deliverables meet quality standards in versioning, specifications, and detail accuracy before reviews.
- Use project management tools like Linear to track project progress, statuses, and dependence transparently.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 7 years of experience producing video content with comprehensive exposure to both on-location production and post-production coordination.
- Proven ability to independently manage video shoots of diverse scale, including out-of-town productions.
- Experience creating and managing budgets, vendor negotiations, and financial reconciliations.
- Exceptional organizational skills, focused on building efficient systems beyond mere task lists.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations diplomatically while keeping projects on course.
- Proficient in post-production processes including review platforms, version control, and delivery specifications, though editing skills are not required.
- High emotional intelligence and discretion necessary for handling personal and sensitive interview content with respect.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in healthcare, documentary filmmaking, or brand storytelling.
- Experience in corporate event production, including stage visuals, AV, and photography.
- Familiarity with Premiere Pro editing workflows.
- Established network of freelance crews and vendors in key U.S. markets such as Bay Area and Southern California.
- Experience working with project management software like Linear.
