Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist

Position Overview

Our client is searching for a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist to join their expanding team located in Bray, Co. Wicklow. This full-time, permanent role operates during regular business hours from Monday to Friday and is fully on-site. The position offers a salary range of €35,000 to €40,000 depending on experience.

Role Summary

The specialist will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, overseeing stock levels, coordinating purchase orders, and quickly addressing supply chain challenges to prevent any disruption to operations or customers. This position requires hands-on involvement within both warehouse and production settings to identify and resolve operational blockages, ensuring a smooth flow of materials and finished goods.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders by creating, reviewing, and ensuring accuracy in quantities, prices, and delivery schedules.
• Establish and nurture strong supplier connections, verify lead times, and solve delivery-related problems.
• Keep inventory levels under constant review and reorder proactively to avert shortages.
• Investigate and fix dispatch issues such as missing stock, late shipments, or incorrect items.
• Track deliveries from suppliers, follow up on delayed orders, and communicate precise delivery updates.
• Negotiate favorable commercial terms including pricing and volume discounts where applicable.
• Work closely with the production, warehouse, and finance departments to facilitate efficient supply chain processes and accurate stock records.
• Continuously seek improvements in purchasing workflows, supplier performance, and overall supply chain effectiveness.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of three years’ experience in procurement or purchasing within fast-paced manufacturing, distribution, engineering, or technical sectors in Ireland.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain operations and inventory control.
• Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities to foster supplier partnerships.
• Outstanding organizational aptitude with the ability to juggle several priorities and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with ERP or purchasing platforms; experience with Sage is a plus.
• Analytical thinker with a problem-solving mindset, proactive in identifying and addressing challenges.
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring timely availability of products and materials.
