Procurement Manager - Hospitality Industry

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Manager to oversee all procurement activities within our hospitality-focused group at Society Qatar. This role involves leading strategic sourcing efforts to secure high-quality goods and services that uphold our premium brand standards while maximizing value. The successful candidate will support our expansion in Qatar's wellness and lifestyle market by cultivating strong vendor relationships, enhancing procurement efficiencies, and ensuring smooth acquisition processes integral to an exceptional member experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with our organizational goals and premium brand values across diverse categories such as fitness equipment, food and beverage, spa, retail, IT, and professional services.
• Drive competitive sourcing initiatives (including RFI, RFQ, and RFP) ensuring transparency and optimal value.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers that meet stringent quality, sustainability, and compliance standards within Qatar and the GCC.
• Maintain an approved supplier register and manage supplier lifecycle activities, including performance evaluation, contract renewal, and exit processes supported by KPIs and SLAs.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, contracts, and payment conditions, collaborating closely with finance and legal when necessary.
• Oversee procurement related to facilities maintenance, capital projects, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Work alongside operational teams to synchronize stock management, import logistics, and minimize supply chain disruptions.
• Maintain governance by adhering to commercial laws, financial policies, and internal frameworks including accurate procurement records and controls.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team effectively to encourage a high-performance culture.

Experience & Qualifications

• At least five years in a senior procurement role, preferably within multi-site operations in leisure, hospitality, fitness, or retail sectors.
• Proven competence in comprehensive procurement functions such as strategy, sourcing, supplier and contract management in GCC or international environments.
• Experience handling diverse procurement categories and managing budgets while achieving cost-saving targets.
• Strong leadership skills with a history of managing small teams and collaborating cross-functionally.
• Familiarity with procurement technologies like ERP and spend analytics is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related disciplines.
• CIPS Level 4 certification or higher; advanced professional certifications and qualifications are a plus.

Team and Reporting

This role reports directly to the Operations Director and leads a team including the Procurement Officer, Facility Management Supervisor, and Warehouse Supervisor.
