Key Responsibilities
- Organize and lead procurement meetings with contract managers to devise project-specific sourcing strategies that achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives while tracking supplier performance.
- Manage procurement activities for major domestic and international projects including sourcing, negotiating terms, pricing, technical compliance, and supplier selection, optimizing through discounts and strategic partnerships while mitigating supply risks.
- Build and nurture strong supplier partnerships by conducting business reviews, negotiating framework and rebate contracts, and ensuring contractual compliance.
- Establish and develop strategic supply chains both locally and internationally, assessing supplier capabilities per company qualifications and strategic guidelines.
- Ensure divisional adherence to internal quality procedures and standards.
- Prepare comprehensive procurement reports for projects and the division.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams and stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements within procurement operations.
- Monitor and review supplier performance in conjunction with the Group Quality Team, executing supplier appraisals based on defined processes.
- Provide succinct and precise procurement data to the Head of Contracts Procurement to support high-level strategic decisions.
- Lead and integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives within the division alongside Group ESG leadership.
- Drive continuous enhancement of procurement processes aligned with operational efficiency goals.
- Fulfill any additional tasks assigned by the Head of Contracts Department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple supplier relationships effectively.
- Experience handling several significant projects within Ireland and Europe.
- Minimum of five years’ relevant purchasing experience.
- Engineering background is advantageous.
- Solid knowledge and experience in the construction industry is essential.
- Preferably holds a recognized third-level qualification such as IIPMM or equivalent.
- Comprehensive training on company-specific procedures and systems will be provided.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
