Role Overview
The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for supervising and executing procurement tasks across multiple categories and internal departments, ensuring an efficient supply of daily operational necessities while upholding procurement service standards. This role acts as the principal Business Engagement Leader liaising with key stakeholders throughout the country operations to establish procurement plans and goals that align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Guarantee timely availability of goods and services with cost-effective sourcing focused on wise expenditure management nationwide.
- Adhere to company procurement procedures, executing necessary controls, approvals, and reports within the country context.
- Develop procurement plans tailored to each budget holder, collaborating with category managers on sourcing strategies that emphasize Total Cost of Ownership.
- Coordinate with regional and global category managers to handle procurement activities including requisition management, purchase order generation, tendering, negotiation, expediting delivery, and benchmarking to satisfy business needs.
- Manage contracts and cultivate an efficient vendor network domestically. Drive supplier performance improvements and ensure smooth procure-to-pay processes in partnership with finance operations.
- Safeguard confidential information, maintain accurate documentation and monitor contract timelines for renewals and negotiations.
- Conduct market and industry research to uncover advantageous opportunities. Support the development of business cases and cost-benefit analyses with category managers to aid leadership decision-making.
- Contribute to special projects and assigned departmental tasks, bringing expertise in automating procurement workflows and handling high transaction volumes.
- Serve as the primary country-level contact for all procurement-related inquiries from internal teams and suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Proficient computer skills; experience with MRP/ERP systems is beneficial.
- Minimum of 5 years' procurement experience, ideally including 2-3 years in management or operations/supply chain roles.
- Strong technical background, preferably in Oil & Gas midstream sector or multi-site retailing across multiple regions.
- Deep understanding of procure-to-pay procedures and ability to manage complex data accurately.
- Business insight to comprehend marketing and operational strategies.
- Skilled in contract management, supplier relationship development, and local-level contract terms and conditions.
- Proven ability to foster collaborative partnerships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Effective team player and problem solver accustomed to leading in dynamic, complex environments to produce value-driven outcomes.
- Experience applying project management methodologies to successfully deliver results.
