About the Role
Revolution Prep is hiring independent contractor proctors for online mock SAT suite, ACT, and AP exams, with some in-person proctoring possible depending on location. The role is expected to begin in September, although some hours may open up earlier. Training and all exam materials will be supplied by the company.
This position suits someone who is friendly, energetic, clear in communication, and dependable.
Responsibilities
- Complete all required training before starting proctoring assignments.
- Share accurate availability once every quarter.
- Present exam instructions to a group of high school students using Zoom.
- Act as a professional representative of Revolution Prep at all times.
- Join occasional refresher training when procedures or materials are updated.
- Arrange transportation to and from any in-person exam assignment, if applicable.
Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Should have availability in four-hour blocks during peak mock exam times.
- Peak availability windows are Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM PT / 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET.
- Less frequent availability may also be needed on Sundays from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM PT / 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET.
- Comfort using Zoom video conferencing software.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly in writing.
- Demonstrates a growth-oriented mindset, including adaptability, openness to challenges, and willingness to learn.
- Must be able to pass a background screening.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience, especially in online classroom management, is preferred but not required.
- Experience tutoring or teaching test preparation is considered an advantage.
Technology Requirements
- A laptop or desktop computer, either Mac or PC.
- For Mac systems: Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 or newer.
- For PC systems: Windows 8.1 or newer.
- A working webcam is required.
Compensation
This is a 1099-NEC independent contractor role paid at $20 per hour.
