Process Operator

About The Role

We are seeking a Process Operator to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of our processing facility located in Knockharley, Navan, Meath. This role involves hands-on operation and monitoring of plant equipment, addressing faults, and supporting routine maintenance and site housekeeping to maintain safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery and processing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and document operational data.
• Report any accidents, equipment issues, or performance concerns promptly.
• Respond appropriately to abnormal or emergency situations.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Assist maintenance personnel with equipment repairs when needed.
• Support operational and maintenance teams across the site.
• Perform cleaning, painting, and general housekeeping duties.
• Adhere to company procedures, operating instructions, and safety policies.
• Work additional hours or overtime during equipment breakdowns, major maintenance, or unusual conditions.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by site management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong mechanical awareness and proficiency with basic hand tools.
• Experience in plant operations, manufacturing, recycling, engineering, or similar industrial environments preferred.
• Technical, mechanical, or apprenticeship training is a plus.
• Ability to interpret operating procedures, safety guidelines, and maintenance documentation accurately.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with supervisors and team members.
• Basic numeracy skills for precise record-keeping.
• Practical problem-solving skills and responsible decision-making.
• Ability to act swiftly and safely during emergencies to protect people and equipment.
• Possession of relevant CSCS plant tickets for operating loaders, forklifts, or MEWPs is advantageous.

Working Conditions

The role requires working around moving machinery and industrial equipment indoors and outdoors. It may include working at heights and occasional exposure to confined spaces, dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, vibration, and varying noise levels. Proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to training and safe work procedures is mandatory.
