Role Overview

Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Erlestoke. This critical role involves assisting with the daily operations of a busy prison, incorporating a varied range of tasks from security measures to logistical support. The position offers a blend of administrative responsibilities alongside physically engaging work such as handling deliveries and escorting vehicles within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting security searches and managing access at the prison gates
• Coordinating and supervising the receipt of deliveries
• Overseeing visitor management processes
• Monitoring phone systems and closed-circuit television (CCTV) to maintain security
• Engaging in physical duties including lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across prison grounds

Candidate Profile

This position requires no formal qualifications but demands excellent communication skills, the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations, sound judgment, and the willingness to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Shift work including nights and weekends is a requisite to maintain continuous operations.
