About the Role
Mercor facilitates connections between elite creative and technical professionals and leading AI research laboratories. Based in San Francisco, the company boasts investment from notable backers such as Benchmark, General Catalyst, and prominent industry visionaries.
This position is a contract-based role offering a competitive hourly rate ranging from $208 to $270. The opportunity is fully remote.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop earnings models, valuation frameworks, investment memos, and monitor catalyst tracking.
- Conduct detailed reviews of corporate filings including 10-K, 10-Q, proxy, and 8-K documents, paying close attention to footnotes and accounting disclosures.
- Analyze revisions to estimates, operational drivers, associated risks, and opportunities from differing market perceptions.
- Detect unsupported assumptions, identify modeling inaccuracies, and gaps within investment theses.
- Communicate findings effectively through clear, well-structured written explanations.
- Incorporate feedback to refine analysis maintaining a consistently high professional standard.
Qualifications
- Between 4 to 9 years of relevant experience for practitioner roles or 9 to 15 years for senior reviewer positions in fundamental equity research, asset management, hedge funds, or similar investment functions.
- Expertise in financial statement analysis, forecasting, and valuation methodologies.
- Strong written communication skills with the capacity to make assumptions and judgments transparent.
- Exceptional attention to detail, intellectual integrity, and confidence in reviewing or defending analytical outputs.
Preferred Experience
- Background in covering Technology, Media, Telecommunications (TMT), semiconductors, or conducting event-driven and SEC-filings-intensive research.
