Role Overview

Our Portfolio team is dedicated to innovation and delivering products that establish us as the preferred beverage supplier for our customers and consumers. This involves launching new categories such as Energy, Sports, and Juice, as well as managing the lifecycle of existing core products. We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee end-to-end commercialisation of new product developments, manage portfolio lifecycle initiatives, and lead cross-functional projects from conception to market launch. This role demands agility in a fast-paced FMCG setting, collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full project management for new product development (NPD) and portfolio lifecycle activities.
  • Develop, plan, and execute innovation projects from initial idea through commercial launch ensuring timelines and budget adherence.
  • Manage SKU lifecycle including portfolio optimisation and governance of product introductions and phase-outs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Strategy teams to achieve business goals.
  • Coordinate manufacturing processes, packaging, co-packing, consumer testing, trials, and importation logistics.
  • Prepare business cases, project plans and identify risks, opportunities alongside risk mitigation strategies.
  • Control project budgets covering line trials, consumer research, and capital expenditure involved in NPD.
  • Ensure rigorous stage-gate governance and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Analyze portfolio performance with recommendations to discontinue, expand, optimise, or redirect initiatives.
  • Drive project momentum by overcoming barriers and influencing diverse stakeholders.
  • Support innovation projects ranging from incremental improvements to transformative revenue streams.

Candidate Profile

  • A proactive, curious problem solver comfortable managing ambiguity and multiple priorities within a dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to constructively challenge and build trust through effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Technical background or significant experience in Engineering, Quality, Safety & Environment, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in FMCG related to Innovation, Commercialisation, NPD, Portfolio Management, or Supply Chain functions.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, stage-gate product development, and test marketing procedures.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within commercial environments and engaging with stakeholders at varying seniority levels.
  • Proficient in building business cases and managing governance in projects.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities to work with data and insights.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Excellent commercial judgment and a strategic mindset with outstanding problem-solving skills.
