Job description

Role Overview

This opportunity is to join an advanced nuclear energy technology initiative as a Plant Integrated Analysis Engineer based in Germany. The role involves contributing to thermal-hydraulic and integrated plant analyses focused on next-generation reactor systems and safety-critical applications. It is a multidisciplinary position combining engineering analysis, system modeling, and collaboration across various technical fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine RELAP5-3D models for steady-state and transient hydraulic network simulations.
  • Design plant-level control strategies and develop component-specific controller models.
  • Conduct validations using fundamental heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics calculations.
  • Analyze scenarios including normal operation, upset conditions, emergencies, and faults to define design criteria and operational limits.
  • Perform comprehensive transient analyses at the plant level to guide design and operational decisions.
  • Lead multidisciplinary control studies involving thermal hydraulics of sodium, molten salt, and non-condensable fluids.
  • Integrate component, system, fuel, and control system concepts with thermal-hydraulic experimental data.
  • Collaborate closely with safety, instrumentation and controls, and design engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Innovate analytical techniques and improve existing modeling methodologies as required.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation and communicate engineering analyses effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Practical experience using system analysis software such as RELAP5 or TRACE.
  • Strong expertise in thermal-hydraulic analysis, 1D hydraulic network modeling, and transient system simulation.
  • Knowledge of control system and instrumentation & control (I&C) modeling is highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with nuclear power plant design or operations is preferred.
  • Experience contributing to the development of novel analytical methods or engineering approaches is beneficial.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for documentation purposes.
  • Strong communication skills facilitating collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to team-oriented work environments.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay between $37 and $74.
