Role Summary

The Plant / Factory Manager is accountable for overseeing the entire factory manufacturing operations including production planning, engineering, product development, quality control, inventory management, staff supervision, and driving continuous process enhancements. This role demands an individual capable of managing operations autonomously while maintaining high standards of quality and timely deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily factory activities to ensure seamless operations.
• Coordinate effectively between departments such as Production, Purchasing, Stores, Quality Assurance, and Dispatch.
• Increase factory output while upholding quality standards.
• Evaluate plant performance and identify areas for operational advancement.
• Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Ensure manufacturing and dispatch timelines are met for machinery.
• Resolve production bottlenecks to optimize workflow.
• Enhance productivity through effective resource allocation and planning.
• Lead product design efforts by developing new machinery and refining existing products.
• Create manufacturing drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) for production.
• Optimize machinery designs for superior performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Engage with customers and management to tailor custom machine development.
• Provide technical oversight and leadership to fabrication, machining, assembly, electrical, and refrigeration teams.
• Troubleshoot technical issues arising in manufacturing.
• Standardize manufacturing workflows and maintain documentation.
• Introduce advanced manufacturing methods and uphold rigorous quality standards.
• Ensure quality compliance at all production stages including welding, assembly, and testing.
• Reduce rework by improving first-pass yield.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and quality checklists.
• Manage coordination with purchasing and inventory to guarantee timely material availability.
• Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize shortages.
• Lead, motivate, and manage production personnel, distributing workload efficiently.
• Train staff to enhance technical skills and cultivate a disciplined, accountable workplace culture.
• Focus on manufacturing cost reduction and shortening production cycles.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies to boost efficiency.
• Foster innovation in manufacturing processes and new product development.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 8 to 12 years of experience in machinery manufacturing or industrial equipment production.
• Preferred experience in industries such as food processing, dairy machinery, refrigeration, or stainless steel fabrication.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Production Planning and Control.
• Capability in Product Design and Development.
• Expertise in Manufacturing Engineering principles.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks software is advantageous.
• Competence in BOM preparation and stainless-steel fabrication.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems and quality assurance.
• Inventory planning and vendor coordination skills.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and process improvements.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
