Job Overview

The Planning Manager is tasked with formulating, overseeing, and controlling the project timeline for a hospital building initiative. This role ensures that the project stays on schedule by tracking progress, analyzing delays, and coordinating efforts across all stakeholders to meet key milestones while adhering to quality and budget standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update the master project schedule utilizing Microsoft Project.
  • Develop comprehensive baseline plans, short-term look-ahead schedules, and recovery timetables.
  • Regularly review project progress against the approved timeline to detect potential delays.
  • Execute critical path analysis and advise on necessary corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with teams across engineering, procurement, construction, MEP, and commissioning for integrated scheduling.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for executives.
  • Monitor procurement and delivery timelines to ensure synchronization with construction phases.
  • Assist with resource planning and productivity assessments.
  • Conduct delay investigations and prepare Extension of Time (EOT) documentation when required.
  • Engage in project review meetings, providing schedule updates to management and clients.
  • Ensure adherence to project planning protocols and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with consultants, contractors, and site representatives regarding planning and reporting.
  • Manage documentation pertinent to project planning, scheduling, and progress measurement.
  • Support risk identification and schedule-based mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline.
  • Possession of a Master’s degree or PMP certification is favorable.

Experience

  • 8 to 10 years of project planning and scheduling experience.
  • Background in large-scale healthcare, hospital, or institutional construction projects.
  • Experience handling planning for EPC or PMC projects is advantageous.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficient in Microsoft Project for schedule creation and tracking.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledgeable in project controls, earned value management (EVM), and delay analysis.
  • Understanding of hospital construction sequences, MEP systems, medical equipment coordination, and commissioning tasks.
